Anupam Kamal is a hobbyist, adventurer and a keen photographer, who has toyed with cameras over the last three decades. His prime interests in photography are portraiture and wildlife. Several of his pictures have featured in the World’s Top 25 in Wild Bird Trust and Wild Bird Revolution, web-blogs of the National Geographic.
He is a social activist and General Secretary of an NGO providing education and equal opportunities for the poor. He is a medallist sportsman, a national level ‘renowned’ shooter. He is also a Collector with the largest knife collection in India holding the national record in the Limca Book of Records.
Skilled in rescue, fire-fighting, first-aid and armament, he has trained with the Armoured Corps of NCC under the Indian Army and transformed himself into a gallant altruist with soldier-like qualities. He is a gallantry awardee from the President of India and also a recipient of the Red & White Bravery Award.
He was appointed as Special Police Officer by the Delhi Police where he excelled in policing and law & order duties and was awarded the prestigious Commendation Roll and over twenty certificates, commendations and newspaper mentions.
Earlier in 1991, he was deputed by the Indian Red Cross to establish wireless radio communications with Iraq during the Gulf War. He has also earned commendations while serving as a Warden with Delhi Civil Defence and has been a meritorious Scout. He is an elected member of governing body of Delhi State Rifle Association and is the current President of Delhi District Rifle Association.
